Toxic Kiss

I have learned to tame the wild in my wanderlust heart, and I have grown accustomed to the eggshells you placed beneath my feet. I have even learned to accept my place behind the line you’ve drawn between us in the sand. But I swear those sugar-coated lips of yours are going to be the death of me because for as sweet as they taste your tongue is laced with poison and it is slowly killing me.

It seems every day is verbal warfare and I am your number one target. Stupid girl; blinded by love, wandering aimlessly beyond enemy lines with no armor. I live with a weapon of mass destruction hidden behind your teeth and each shot fired at me rips through my flesh like a bullet straight into my heart...yet you don’t even notice that I am drowning in the blood you spilled.
